The Gwen Shelf, handcrafted from solid Alder and finished in our warm Tobacco tone, offers an intentional and beautiful backdrop for these meaningful objects. With its clean lines and honest construction, this shelf brings both functional storage and a sense of calm, grounded character to your living room, study, or hallway.
Crafted from Solid Alder
We select solid Alder for its smooth grain and natural warmth, allowing the rich, deep tones of our Tobacco finish to settle beautifully into the wood. This finish highlights the unique character of the timber without overshadowing its natural beauty. Built to order by skilled craftsmen, the Gwen Shelf is designed to be an enduring part of your daily routines, standing strong through years of use and rearrangement.

Our Customers Love Us
"I could not be happier with the level of customer service James & James provided. Also on an earlier order with the table, I made a mistake in the order and they went out of their way to make it right."
Solid hardwood furniture, made by hand in Arkansas since 2011
James & James is an American furniture brand founded in 2011 in Springdale, Arkansas. Inside Our Arkansas Workshop
Solid American Hardwoods
Every piece begins with premium American hardwoods — knotty alder, white oak, and black walnut — hand-selected, dried, and processed in our Arkansas facility before a single cut is made.
Precision-Shaped Components
Legs and pedestal bases are shaped to exacting specifications in our Arkansas woodshop, then hand-inspected and refined by our craftsmen before they ever reach the assembly floor.
Built by Hand & Made to Order
Each piece is built one at a time by our artisans to your specifications, using solid hardwood construction and time-tested joinery designed to hold up for generations of real family life.
Hand-Finished for Life
Our in-house finishers apply your chosen stain and protective topcoat by hand, ensuring even color, rich depth, and a durable finish that ages beautifully with use.
