Reimagining American Craftmanship

At James & James, we believe the rooms you live in deserve furniture with soul - pieces built with the same care and integrity as the moments they will be part of. We design and build custom made-to-order furniture that honors traditional craftsmanship while making room for how you actually live, so every piece feels less like a purchase and more like an heirloom in the making.

Where It All Started

Furniture, to us, has never been just about function. The best pieces carry meaning - they anchor a room, hold a memory, and quietly become part of a family’s story.

That belief took root in 2011, in a small garage in Springdale, Arkansas, where a single handcrafted table set everything in motion. What began as a weekend project soon became something bigger: a full-time commitment to solid hardwood furniture that pairs timeless design with real, lasting quality.

From day one, the standard was integrity - furniture that is as beautiful to look at as it is dependable to live with. Every curve, joint, and finish was shaped with intention, and that first table set a tone we have never let go of: heritage craftsmanship, honest materials, and service that feels personal, because it is.

Our Mission

Every piece we build starts with intention — thoughtfully designed, carefully constructed, and made to your exact specifications. From the hands of American artisans to a place in your home, our work reflects one simple standard: excellence you can see and durability you can trust.
We choose materials with care, build with precision, and finish with purpose, creating furniture meant to outlast trends and to be handed down.

For those who value artistry over trend, substance over speed, and connection over convenience, James & James offers more than furniture. We offer pieces built to last - and to be lived in for generations.

How We've Grown

James & James has grown deliberately - never chasing trends or scaling through mass production, but staying close to the craft that built us. Every piece is still made to order in our Arkansas woodshop, built from solid American hardwoods, many sourced right here at home.

Our artisans, finishers, and designers bring technical skill and genuine care to every piece that leaves our shop. We have also built lasting partnerships with Amish and Mennonite woodworkers in the US, who craft our chairs and select bed frames with the same respect for tradition and detail that defines everything we make.

These partnerships are not just practical - they are a reflection of what we believe: that real luxury lives in the details you do not always see, the joinery, the hand-applied finish, the way a piece feels as much as how it looks.

Where We're Headed

Growth, for us, will always mean going deeper rather than faster. Looking ahead, we are expanding what is possible within our craft - bringing new designs, wood types, and stains into the shop, and refining our processes to shrink lead times, so more families can bring home a piece built to last without the long wait.

At the same time, we are staying rooted in what got us here. Every new design has to earn its place alongside the joinery, materials, and standards that define James & James - so what is next stays relevant to how people live today, while remaining true to the traditions we were built on.

Our future is not about doing more. It is about doing right by the craft, the makers, and the families who bring our furniture home to stay.
