Almond on Oak Sample
Custom, American Hardwood Furniture
Note: Finish samples are limited to one of each item per order.
Choosing the right finish for your handcrafted furniture is a deeply personal decision. The unique lighting of your home, the color of your walls, and the natural flow of your daily life all influence how a wood tone feels in your space. Ordering an Almond on Oak sample allows you to experience this finish in your own environment before selecting your heirloom-quality furniture.
A Balanced, Warm Tone
Almond on Oak is a thoughtful, balanced finish designed to highlight the natural character of solid oak. It features a light, warm brown tone that gently enhances the wood's organic grain variation without masking its inherent beauty. Fresh yet classic, this finish brings a sense of calm and openness, making it particularly well-suited for bright, airy interiors and spaces filled with natural light.
Test in Your Own Light
Because solid wood is a natural material, it responds beautifully to its surroundings. We highly recommend placing your Almond on Oak sample in the room where your future furniture will live. Observe how the warm tones shift from the soft glow of morning light to the cozy warmth of evening lamps. Placing it alongside your existing flooring, cabinetry, and paint colors will help you design a cohesive, welcoming space for family and guests to gather.
Handcrafted Quality
This ensures you receive an honest representation of the texture, tone, and enduring quality you can expect from James & James.

Inside Our Arkansas Workshop
Solid American Hardwoods
Every piece begins with premium American hardwoods — knotty alder, white oak, and black walnut — hand-selected, dried, and processed in our Arkansas facility before a single cut is made.
Precision-Shaped Components
Legs and pedestal bases are shaped to exacting specifications in our Arkansas woodshop, then hand-inspected and refined by our craftsmen before they ever reach the assembly floor.
Built by Hand & Made to Order
Each piece is built one at a time by our artisans to your specifications, using solid hardwood construction and time-tested joinery designed to hold up for generations of real family life.
Hand-Finished for Life
Our in-house finishers apply your chosen stain and protective topcoat by hand, ensuring even color, rich depth, and a durable finish that ages beautifully with use.
