Custom, American Hardwood Furniture
Order real wood and fabric swatches to see how each finish looks in your space, lighting, and style before you commit.
Every home needs a place for the things that define it—treasured books, family photographs, and collected keepsakes. The Boyd Shelf offers a thoughtful, enduring way to display these pieces, bringing both organization and natural warmth to your living space, study, or hallway.
Handcrafted from Solid Alder
We build the Boyd Shelf from solid Alder, a beautiful hardwood chosen for its fine, uniform grain and smooth texture. Finished in our warm Harvest Wheat tone, the wood's natural character is gently highlighted, offering a soft, inviting glow that complements both traditional and contemporary homes. This finish allows the organic beauty of the Alder wood to shine through, ensuring that no two shelves are exactly alike.
Built for Everyday Living
A great shelf should be as sturdy as it is beautiful. Designed with a balanced, timeless silhouette, the Boyd Shelf is crafted to handle the weight of heavy art books, ceramic vases, and everyday items without bowing or shaking. It is a functional piece of furniture meant to be used and appreciated daily, standing strong through years of rearranging and styling.
Versatile Styling for Any Room
Whether placed in a quiet reading nook, flanking a fireplace, or serving as a focal point in your dining room, the Boyd Shelf adapts naturally to your lifestyle. Its clean lines and warm Harvest Wheat finish make it easy to coordinate with existing furniture, while its generous shelving space provides ample room to showcase your personal style.

Our Customers Love Us
"I could not be happier with the level of customer service James & James provided. Also on an earlier order with the table, I made a mistake in the order and they went out of their way to make it right."

Inside Our Arkansas Workshop
Solid American Hardwoods
Every piece begins with premium American hardwoods — knotty alder, white oak, and black walnut — hand-selected, dried, and processed in our Arkansas facility before a single cut is made.
Precision-Shaped Components
Legs and pedestal bases are shaped to exacting specifications in our Arkansas woodshop, then hand-inspected and refined by our craftsmen before they ever reach the assembly floor.
Built by Hand & Made to Order
Each piece is built one at a time by our artisans to your specifications, using solid hardwood construction and time-tested joinery designed to hold up for generations of real family life.
Hand-Finished for Life
Our in-house finishers apply your chosen stain and protective topcoat by hand, ensuring even color, rich depth, and a durable finish that ages beautifully with use.
